Unable to access and manage folder permissions for Exchange Online Archive mailboxes
Explains why Exchange Online Archive mailbox permissions cannot be managed and when support may become available.
Problem
You use Folder Permissions Manager and want to manage folder permissions for Exchange Online Archive mailboxes, but Exchange Online Archive mailboxes are not available.
Reason
Folder Permissions Manager manages folder permissions using Exchange Web Services (EWS). EWS does not support managing folder permissions in Exchange Online Archive mailboxes. At the time of writing Microsoft does not offer any API or PowerShell cmdlets to manage permissions in Exchange Online Archive mailboxes.
Solution
Symprex plans to add support for managing folder permissions in Exchange Online Archive mailboxes if/when Microsoft adds support for this.
